Once in a while we have to stop and contemplate nature. Once in a while we also have to contemplate how time goes by and how we live in the passing of cycles that sometimes we no longer perceive as cycles. I always find inspiration in these type of videos and photography.
This film was shot in two weeks on the Hawaiian islands of Oahu and Maui. Many of the timelapses were taken on Haleakalā (“House of the Sun”), which is a 10,000ft tall dormant volcano. I was intrigued by the complex relationship between the volcano and the clouds. While I was in Hawaii I captured over 150 time lapses, or about 30 minutes of footage, which I edited into this 2 minute piece. The trip was exhausting but it made me happy knowing I was doing what I love.
